SITUATION

• Acute Care Hospital and Outpatient Surgery 49 beds – 111,239 sq. ft.
• Vanguard Resources provides facility management, plant operations and maintenance, environmental services, biomedical engineering, security, laundry/linen, landscaping, infectious waste and regular waste, utilities management and environment of care management.

RESULT

Upon initiating service six months ago, Vanguard Resources implemented computerized maintenance management. Response time and reliability improved immediately, with internal requestors receiving automated status updates. Regulatory compliance also improved as maintenance software details and reports environmental sanitation routines. Vanguard Resources measures customer satisfaction throughout all of its services, using internal surveys, rounds and inspections, customer feedback and CARES/WOW service expectations. All measures are scoring in the 95th percentile. Vanguard Resources also put budget development practices to work for Community Hospital, using preferred pricing from VRI vendors and alternative approaches resulting in $1.5 million capital improvement savings. VRI personnel management has increased employee satisfaction and staff retention in their areas of the hospital to the point that “the client wants to model our WOW programs internally for other departments.”
